This course teaches you how to use effective communication to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues. You’ll learn to communicate with respect, support individual needs, and address any communication barriers. The course also covers conflict resolution and facilitating productive meetings, ensuring clear and inclusive communication that fosters collaboration and understanding.

Work Effectively in Disability Support will equip you with the skills and knowledge needed to perform effectively in disability support roles. It covers meeting job requirements, complying with organisational and legal standards, and working within a disability sector context. The course emphasises person-centred communication, interdisciplinary collaboration, and self-care strategies, all in accordance with Commonwealth and State/Territory legislation and industry codes of practice.

Work With People With Mental Health Issues will equip[ support workers outside the mental health sector to establish respectful relationships, clarify needs, and collaborate effectively with individuals living with mental health issues. The course emphasises respecting self-direction in recovery, maintaining confidentiality, supporting empowerment, and providing appropriate referrals, all in accordance with Commonwealth and State/Territory legislation, Australian/New Zealand standards, and industry codes of practice.
