Because I already have a degree in psychology, I knew a lot of the material. The real value for me was the assignments, which forced me to find new material and effectively make use of the material I already have. This was invaluable – in the day to day busyness of work I need not to make use of resources which are sitting on my bookshelf. I was able to target the assignments to the relevant demographic for me, and now have a course that I have written which I can use immediately.
