Whether you’re pursuing a career in community services, homelessness support or housing services, this course provides the skills to support people experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
The Certificate of Homelessness Support is a professional development course that explores the causes of homelessness (housing affordability, income inequality, and family and domestic violence) and the structure of Australia’s housing and support systems.
In this community support course, you will gain a strong foundation in trauma-informed and person-centred practice. You will also explore ethical and professional conduct, holistic assessment, collaborative support planning, and service coordination.
You will learn to navigate support systems, make referrals, and work across housing, health, and community services to deliver integrated care. You will also develop skills in advocacy and community engagement and build partnerships with housing providers, government bodies, and community organisations.
On completion of this course, you will have the skills to ensure strong support outcomes for those experiencing or at-risk of homelessness in the community.
